Darrell Waltrip Is Not Surprised to See Kasey Kahne Move To Hendrick Motorsports

NASCAR ON FOX EXPECTS BIG RACING IN TEXAS – After a Saturday night special, FOX Sports drops the green flag under sunshine on Sunday, April 18 (2:00 PM ET) for NASCAR Sprint Cup Racing from Texas. With many of the Sprint Cup leaders; Jimmie Johnson, Greg Biffle and Jeff Gordon and Carl Edwards having experienced success at Texas Motor Speedway, this week expects to bring a lot of close, exciting action and features the return of the rear spoiler. Last week’s winner at Phoenix, Ryan Newman, has also had his fair share of success at TMS and looks to carry that momentum into this weekend’s race. 

Coverage starts with FOX NASCAR SUNDAY host Chris Myers, along with analysts Waltrip and Jeff Hammond from the Hollywood Hotel, FOX Sports’ traveling prerace set providing up-to-the-minute reports and live interviews with drivers, crewmen and officials shaping the day’s action. Once the green flag drops, race announcer Mike Joy will be alongside analysts Waltrip and Larry McReynolds to call all the twists and turns on the track while Dick Berggren, Steve Byrnes, Krista Voda and Matt Yocum patrol the pits for up-to-the-second news and notes.

DW: NO SURPRISE KASEY KAHNE IS MOVING ON – This week, NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Kasey Kahne announced his move from Richard Petty Motorsports to Hendrick Motorsports beginning in 2012 and NASCAR on FOX analyst Darrell Waltrip, believes Kahne made the right choice to move on. “I have known for quite some time that Kasey has been unhappy with the way things have been going over at Richard Petty Motorsports,” said Waltrip. “There are two things a driver wants and needs to be successful.  He needs security in the owner and the organization and he needs to believe he can win a championship there.” According to DW there is no better place for Kahne. “He needs to be some place with considerably more security and what better place to land than with the best car owner in the sport right now, Rick Hendrick.”
