Nate Deal Official

According to the Herald:

A long two days finally came to a conclusion roughly 30 minutes ago, when the Celtics and Knicks agreed to a five-player deal that will send Eddie House, J.R. Giddens and Bill Walker to New York in exchange for Nate Robinson and reserve forward Marcus Landry.

Both teams are now waiting for approval from the NBA – a process that could talk time, considering the number of trades that the league office now has to approve.

And they add that, in addition to going after Caron Butler:

This trade also means that Ray Allen gets to remain a Celtic, though the team looked into a wide array of potentially big deals using the veteran guard’s expirin max contract as bait.

A team source said that the Cs looked into acquiring Phoenix forward Amare Stoudemire, for instance. Management also looked into possible trades for Utah’s Carlos Boozer, Miami’s Mchael Beasley, Philadelphia’s Andre Iguodala and Golden State’s Monte Ellis.
