A former NBA point guard and slam dunk champ, Nate Robinson had his moments in the NBA as one of the most quick and athletic point guards in the league and still has some juice left in him.
Reports over the past few days claim that the former point guard is trying to convert from the court to the field as an NFL player and the Seattle Seahawks are working him out to see where he stands. Robinson, a native of Seattle, is attempting to make his hometown Seahawks but if all fails, there may be another team willing to work out the 5’9 speedster. Coach Pete Carroll described Robinson as an “amazing athlete” but he still has to face the obstacles of making the 53 man roster. Robinson, when he was a student at the University of Washington, played football (Wide receiver and Special teams) and basketball excelled at both before continuing his NBA dream.
The Patriots, rumors have speculated, have in fact been intrigued by the conversion of Nate Robinson and seeing him work out wouldn’t be he worst thing in the world for coach Bill Belichick, who is willing to take chances on multi sport athletes (WR Chris Hogan was a lacrosse player in college). I am not saying we have set up a workout for Robinson but the Patriots have, according to sources, could possibly contact Robinson for a workout if all fails with Seattle.
Robinson in 10 years within the NBA averaged 11 points a game, just over 2 boards a game and dished out 3 assists. Fans may remember the play where Robinson, who is 5’9, blocked 7’6 Yao Ming, which was one of the most insane blocks you can ever see.
We will see what happens with Nate Robinson but it would be interesting to host a workout to Robinson and what he brings to the table.
