Due to the new transparency rules as a result of the Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn very newsworthy and controversial vote for Carmelo Anthony for the NBA’s Most Valuable Player Award last year, the tablulations for Defensive Player Of The Year was announced today.
Joakim Noah got the most 1st Place Votes with 100 and will win the award. Roy Hibbert garnered the second-most points and DeAndre Jordan came in third.

The Golden State Warriors‘ Andre Iguodala finished fifth, well behind Serge Ibaka, but also well ahead of sixth-place LeBron James.
Most notable was TV color announcer Jim Barnett‘s votes for Andrew Bogut and Iguodala second.

After Paul George, Anthony Davis, and Dwight Howard, Bogut finished 10th in voting.

All in all, 29 writers voted for Iguodala, while only 5 voted for Bogut. Barnett was the only journalist to vote Bogut in 1st. USA Today’s Jeff Zilgitt gave Iguodala a first-place vote.
Also noteworthy was Iguodala’s second-place vote from Bill Simmons.
