With the return of Paul George for a full season, and the arrivals of superstar Monta Ellis and NBA Draft lottery pick Myles Turner, the Indiana Pacers are expecting to get back into the postseason in the 2015-16 campaign.
October is finally just around the corner, and as a result, the Pacers and the rest of the teams in the NBA are about to begin the preseason, which starts in less than a week’s time. The first Pacers preseason game is October 3 against the New Orleans Pelicans at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. According to secondary market ticket aggregator TiqIQ.com, Pacers tickets have an average price of only $39 with a get-in price of $6. It’s an opportune time to see NBA-quality basketball before the prices skyrocket for the regular season.
Pacers fans from outside the Indiana area can use Hipmunk.com for Indianapolis flights, where there are a plethora of transportation options to get near Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Enjoy a weekend stay by reserving an Indianapolis hotel on Hipmunk as well, starting from $87 per night.
Roy Hibbert and David West have both moved on to the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs, respectively, for this season. The Hibbert trade brought back Jordan Hill from the Lakers, a player Pacers fans will have no problem liking as the veteran center has a nice all-around game.
The Indiana Pacers hope Turner is the answer from moving away some of the core players that made Indiana a playoff threat only a few seasons ago. Turner dazzled in his debut during the Orlando Summer League, showing an array of midrange jump shots and shot-blocking ability that were impressive to any onlooker.
The Pacers needed a boost in talent on the roster and Turner seems to be that player; one that can join the roster right away and have a positive impact. C.J. Miles and George Hill are returning, and the Pacers added the immensely talented hybrid guard Ellis to pick up the slack in scoring. The 10-year vet can still fill it up in bunches, averaging just a shade under 19 points per game last season (18.9) with 4.1 assists and 2.4 rebounds. Indiana ranked 24th in the league last year in points per game as a team with 97.3, but it seems certain that will increase in the upcoming year. The Pacers will surely be a team to watch as they appear to be back on the rise.
