In a time when what’s old is new again, the Toronto Raptors will indeed be the most stylish NBA team, as they will be bringing back their infamous Dinosaur jerseys against the Washington Wizards on Friday.
The purple jersey is unmistakable due to the large Raptor that fills the mid-section, and the large text that prominently displays the team name and player number.
In honor of celebrating the franchise’s 20th anniversary, the team will use the jerseys to pay homage to the team’s origins when players like Damon Stoudemire, Marcus Camby and Vince Carter wore the purple threads.
When the announcement to wear the purple jersey this season was made in March, Raptors GM Masai Ujiri made it clear this a move for the fans, “We are excited to bring back a piece of team history as part of our 20th Anniversary celebration, Our fans have shown affection for the original purple uniform and I think our players will enjoy the chance to wear them next season.”
