NBC Universal’s 2010 Winter Olympics Talent Roster

This week, NBC released the talent roster and the broadcasting schedule for the Vancouver Olympics. Some reaction here. First, seeing veteran Olympics host Jim Lampley not having a role is sad. Lamps has called or hosted every Olympics for ABC, TNT or NBC dating back to 1980 in Lake Placid. That streak now stops in Vancouver. I do wish NBC had found a role for Lamps in this Olympics. Jim wouldn’t be bad at hosting late night.

I do think Al Michaels who takes his place will do a decent job, but I’d rather see him call an event instead of hosting.

Dan Patrick will get his first network TV Olympic assignment as he’ll be at the women’s downhill and half-pipe snowboarding. If you’ve listened to his syndicated radio show or watched it on DirecTV, you’ll know that Dan has been talking about this assignment for the last two weeks.

Jonny Moseley has the potential to be a very good analyst in Freestyle Skiing.

And I look forward to seeing the hockey on MSNBC and CNBC with the NHL on NBC crew, and it will be nice to have Pierre McGuire away from most NBC games as he’ll be working for CTV and TSN.

Coming up, the Olympic schedule on the networks of NBC.
