Player Of The Year: Frank Kaminsky
Kaminsky was the best player during the 2014-15 season. The Tank averaged 18.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. Kaminsky has led Wisconsin to a great season, which was displayed by winning the Big Ten conference tournament, and by being awarded a number 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.
Rookie Of The Year: Jahlil Okafor
Okafor had an incredible Freshman season. He averaged 18.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. Okafor was my runner-up to Kaminsky for national player of the year. I felt Kaminsky deserved the award due to his progressed complete game. Okafor lacks and outside game, and is not a great passer like Kaminsky is. However, Okafor is a beast down low, and definitely deserves the Freshman of the Year award.
Coach Of The Year: John Calipari/Kentucky
It’s hard to pick anyone else for Coach of the Year, when John Calipari has his team undefeated. The Kentucky Wildcats when the SEC regular season, and tournament. Coach Cal has an unbelievable amount of talent on his team, but it’s still an amazing feat to lead any team to an unscathed record.
Rookie Coach Of The Year: Kevin Keatts/UNCW
Last year, Kevin Keatts was the head associate assistant coach for Rick Pitino. This year, he became the head coach at UNC-Wilmington, and helped turn the Seahawks into a winning team. He basically single handedly made this UNCW team turn from worst to first a single season.
