Sometimes you can’t win for trying. Taking charges aren’t a natural thing for a basketball player to do. When we are playing pickup noone tries to step in to take a charge – you either go for the block or you get the hell out of the way. But once we start playing organized ball, coaches drill into our heads the basketball fundamental of stepping up and taking charges on players.
