Netlinked 11/26/14: AK trade possibilities expand, Nets try to avoid being team to lose to 76ers

On the eve of Thanksgiving, one of America’s most sacred days, the Brooklyn Nets will take on the lowly Philadelphia 76ers, which have yet to win thus far in the 2014-15 NBA season. Brett Brown’s team is 0-14 and the Nets don’t want to be the first tally in the “W” column.

The 2009-10 Nets lost their first 18 games of the season so Philly has some way to go to reach that level of futility, four more losses to be exact. Brooklyn has split its last two games overall, a win over the Thunder and loss to the Spurs, and hasn’t played since Saturday so rust and recent ineffective play help Philly in its quest for a first win.

Moving on to negative Nets news, it’s appears that the situation with Andrei Kirilenko won’t be resolved unless a buyout or trade happens. The good news is that a bunch of other teams may be interested in him, which could bode well for the Nets getting actual value in exchange for getting rid of the Russian. The 76ers, via a salary dump, are a possibility as are the Jazz or even the Cavs or Spurs.

However, it appears that the most likely situation is Brooklyn waiving Ak47. Of course they could trade him but the teams interested in him may just wait for him to hit the open market/waivers so they don’t have to give up an asset.
