The game recap will be up soon, but in the meantime we can celebrate the birthday of one of the most important figures in the Brooklyn Nets organization, even if he owns less than one percent of the team. Jay-Z, birth name Shawn Carter, is an absurdly famous rapper who was a major influence on the Nets' move from New Jersey to Brooklyn and has undoubtedly heightened the team's nationwide, and international, profile to an incredibly high level, not to mention the boost in merchandise sales, ticket sales, and free agent attractability he has brought to the franchise. Even though he failed in his summer of 2010 pursuit of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade in free agency, we still wish him a very happy 43rd birthday for altering the face of our beloved Nets forever.
