This Monday afternoon, Brooklyn Balling's beloved (?) Netlinked feature makes its triumphant return as the Nets sit at 6-14 with an important meeting with the Boston Celtics coming up tomorrow.
Deron Williams, who has missed the Nets' last nine games with a re-injury of his ankle, will return to the Brooklyn lineup on Tuesday against the Celtics at Barclays. He's needed badly on a team that has won just 30 percent of its games so far this season, mainly due to a stunning rash of injuries to key players, like Williams himself.
I don't have a link for this little tidbit of news, but Tuesday's game will also be the first time Kevin Garnett will face off with the Celtics since the offseason trade sending him to Brooklyn. His former Boston teammates, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry, each played in at least one of the Nets' two preseason tilts with the Celtics but KG didn't.
The Springfield Armor, D-League affiliate of the Nets, are one of just two D-League teams to have not won a game yet this season, which was ensured by a brutal loss to the Maine Red Claws in which guard Justin Johnson committed a costly technical foul late in regulation. Both the Armor and the Erie Bayhawks–fittingly enough, the affiliate of the Knicks–are 0-5 on the year.
Finally, a fellow Atlantic Division foe–the Toronto Raptors–reportedly made a big trade last night with the Sacramento Kings. Toronto shipped embattled wingman Rudy Gay, along with Quincy Acy and Aaron Gray, to the Kings for Greivis Vasquez, Patrick Patterson, John Salmons, and Chuck Hayes. The move puts the Raptors in near-rebuilding mode and saves them a ton of money, so it can probably be classified as another solid deal made by GM Masai Ujiri.
