Surprisingly, one of the best aspects of this Nets season has been the team's record on the road, something that usually isn't able to be said about a team that is only 12 games above .500 |
As Netlinked returns, the team it covers is at the halfway point of its eight-game circus road trip while it rumbles down the stretch of its first season in Brooklyn. In addition to the intrigue that comes with a team fighting for a division title, the Nets–throughout the end of this season–will be subconsciously trying to do something that no other Nets team has been able to do since the franchise merged into the NBA from the ABA: Have a winning record on the road in one season.
Currently 19-15 away from the Barclays Center, the Nets–with just seven road games left in the season–have a very, very good of finishing out the 2012-13 campaign with a positive record away from home. Having to reach just 21 road victories to ensure an above-.500 mark, Brooklyn only has to win two more road contests to do what the Nets franchise-incarnations before it were never able to do. And with two of those upcoming games in Cleveland and Portland–versus lottery-bound teams–that 21-win mark on the road looks more than possible.
