New England vs Jets Preview Round 1

With how the schedule turned out for the 2016 season, the Patriots will face the division rival Jets twice from now till Christmas Eve, and the Jets dealing with two losses coming from the LA Rams and Miami Dolphins within the past two weeks. Experts are saying that the Jets have an opportunity to shock New England, but they are forgetting about what the Jets have at the helm, a journeyman QB and backups who haven’t developed into starting rotational quarterbacks.

The losses coming out of Los Angeles and in the Meadowlands had a combined seven points of how close the Jets were from winning the past two games. Coach Bowles has the mindset to overwhelm offenses with their nonstop blitz packages and having some of the best defensive lineman in football (Richardson, L. Williams, Wilkerson). It’s a combination that the New England offensive line does not want to hear, but the weapons in which New England possesses can vice versa onto the Jets defense with overwhelming plays and rule bending strategies.

Injuries have plagued New England throughout the season and the laundry list is growing. Brady has reportedly been dealing with knee issues but rumor has it that he will be okay to go on Sunday. Other notable injuries are Hogan (back), Edelman (foot), M. Bennett (ankle), and Cyrus Jones dealing with an illness. Tight end Rob Gronkowski is still dealing with the aftermath of a chest injury Earl Thomas gave him after a midfield collision left Gronk in a daze and a bit woozy. Gronkowski would later say that Thomas’s hit was one of the hardest collisions he has ever been apart of.
