New line, same problems

New line, same problems

This proves my theory that NFL rookies may be the most overhyped entity in football. Everyone was so hyped about the Bills drafting two linemen in the first 2 rounds of the draft, but tend to forget rookies don’t exactly make an immediate impact for a team till at least year 2-3 in the NFL.

As much as the Bills have struggled in the preseason, I didn’t need to see an exhibition game to know the Bills line is in transition. What do you expect for a team that has only 2 returning starters and all 5 lineman playing a new position. Lynch still looks out of synch in his first 3-preseason games only averaging about 2.2 yards a carry. The Bills need their running game to net results this year, because putting the omen of success on the square shoulders of Edwards is too much for him. Heck, he can’t even take just chatter from fans saying he neglects to go deep.

If the Bills start having bigger issues running the ball in the regular season, they may have to scrape the 3 wide formations on every down and go to a conventional 2 tight end offense. God knows they can’t use a fullback because I don’t even know if one still exists on the team.
