The New Orleans Saints’ 2015 season has already been one of the most interesting and eventful in all of the NFL. Entering the season, the Drew Brees led Saints had high playoff aspirations and potential Super Bowl hopes, but stumbled out of the gates to a disappointing 0-3 start. In retrospect, two of those three losses came against top-tier competition in the form of the Arizona Cardinals and the Carolina Panthers, both of which currently lead their respective divisions. In fact so astonishing to many is how well the damn Panthers are playing this year. Only the New England Patriots have a higher power ranking than they do. However a loss at home in week 2 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers behind rookie quarterback Jamis Winston is still a tough one to swallow. In fact I’m still trying to swallow that. Again that’s the same guy who called the deflate-gate scandal when he said Tom Brady is going to take the “air” out of the ball in the AFC championship game.
Now back to our beloved Saints. The Saints regrouped after that loss in week 3 to the Panthers to win 4 of their next 5 games, most of which were against quality opponents. The highlight performance of that run was when Drew Brees threw for 7 touchdown passes at home against the New York Giants, tying the NFL record for touchdown passes in a single game. Brees had to be historically great that day as the Giants were every bit as potent on offense; the two teams combined to score 101 total points, which is an NFL record. After their huge win against the Giants in week 8, the team suffered another let down game, this time against Marcus Mariota and the Titans. The top two drafted rookie quarterbacks have both came into the Superdome this year and outdid Drew Brees and the Saints this season.
The Saints in Week 11 play the Houston Texans in a southern showdown special. This is just the perfect Thanksgiving special for Saints fans. The current Saints Texans NFL Odds for Week 11 have the Saints getting 3 points. The total opened up at 49 points but has swiftly gone down already at Las Vegas sportsbooks.
