Spotlight on: Women’s Volleyball

The Ohio State women’s volleyball team ended its regular season this past week. On 11/21, the No. 14 Buckeyes dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 1 Penn State.  Senior Mari Hole led the Buckeyes with 10 kills and 8 digs.  Teammate Kaitlyn Leary added six kills while Anna Faul had three kills and two blocks.  Penn State won the first set 25-18, the second set 25-16, and the third set 25-14.

On Friday, the Buckeyes dropped their season finale to TSUN by a score of 3-1 at St. John Arena.  Ohio State honored seniors Mariah Booth, Mari Hole, Emily Danks, and Amanda Peterson before the game.  Hole notched her 17th double-double of the season with 15 kills and 11 digs.  The Wolverines took the first set 25-22, the third set 25-18, and the fourth set 25-20.

The Buckeyes will now go on to play in the NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championships. They will face Notre Dame on Friday (11/3o) in Lexington at Memorial Coliseum at 5 pm.

Men’s Ice Hockey

The Buckeyes split a two game series with Lake Superior State Lakers this past week. On Friday evening, they won 4-1 and on Saturday, they lost 3-2.  Ohio State is now 5-4-2, 4-2-2-1 CCHA on the year.

Women’s Ice Hockey

The Buckeyes split a two game series with Princeton on Friday and Saturday. Ohio State took Friday’s contest by a score 4-2 while Princeton won on Saturday 2-1. Ohio State is now 11-5 on the season.

Wrestling

After defeating No. 18 Pittsburgh  on 11/18 by a score of 26-13, the No. 5 Buckeyes improved to 3-0 on the season.  Overall, the Buckeyes won six of ten matches.
