Men’s Gymnastics

1/19 – The No. 8 Buckeyes tied for second with No. 1 Illinois at the Windy City Invitational with a score of 427.750.  Second-ranked TSUN finished first with a score of 431.300. Misha Koudinov led Ohio State with a team-high score of 14.450 to finish seventh on the parallel bars.  Jeff Treleaven led them in floor exercises, scoring a 15.000 to finish seventh. He also a 15.150 on the vault to place second.

Men’s Hockey

1/18-19 – The Buckeyes dropped two games to Northern Michigan this weekend. On Friday, they lost 4-2 and on Saturday, 3-2. Tanner Fritz and Anthony Greco scored for Ohio State on Friday night while goalie Brady Hjelle finished with 28 saves.  On Saturday, Curtis Gedig and Max McCormick tallied goals for the Buckeyes while Hjelle had 18 saves.  Ohio State’s record is now 8-11-5.

Men’s Swimming and Diving

1/19 – The No. 6 Buckeyes posted a win over No.18 Iowa and a loss over No.10 Indiana at a tri-meet on Saturday in Bloomington, IN.  Alex Smith led the way for Ohio State, finishing with two individual wins.  The Buckeyes also won the 200 medley relay, finishing with a time of 1:28:63.

Men’s Tennis

1/16 – No. 4 Ohio State opened up its season with a 7-0 win over Butler.  Ohio State has the No. 1 ranked singles player in the nation in Peter Kobelt, who beat Austin Woldmoe 6-3, 6-2 to seal the match for the Buckeyes.

Wrestling

1/18 – The No. 6 Buckeyes defeated the Indiana Hoosiers in Bloomington by a score of 36-3.  After four matches, Ohio State led 18-0.  Senior Nikko Triggas defeated Joe Duca in the first match to give the Buckeyes an early 6-0 lead. Later, teammate Hunter Stieber improved to 22-0 on the season in a 16-1 win over Joe Randazzo.

Women’s Gymnastics

1/19 – The No. 21 Buckeyes defeated Iowa 194.925-194.200 on Saturday.  Ohio State won the vault title 49.075-49.050 after Sarah Miller tied for first with a 9.900.  Miller also took the titles on the beam and in floor exercises.

Women’s Ice Hockey

1/18-19 – The Buckeyes tied St. Cloud State 1-1 on Friday night. Danielle Gagne posted the lone goal for Ohio State while goalie Chelsea Knapp had 30 saves.  On Saturday, the Buckeyes defeated St. Cloud State 3-1.  Taylor Kuehl, Kari Schmitt, and Tina Hollowell all scored for Ohio State while Knapp had 26 saves.

Women’s Swimming & Diving

1/18 – No. 15 Ohio State fell to No. 25 Michigan on Friday.  Ohio State went 1-2-3 in the 200 freestyle with Alex Norris finishing first, and then Phoebe Cater and Katy Luchansky finishing second and third, respectively. In diving, Cheyenne Cousineau took first in the 1-meter & 3-meter competitions with 304.05 and 318.60 points.

Synchronized Swimming

1/19 – Ohio State won its season opening invitational on Saturday with 93 points, defeating Miami and Ball State.  Two time defending national solo champion Yuliya Maryanko took first in the solo routine with a score of 88.0.  She also took home the victory in the Technical A competition with a score of 80.935.
