More than just Football at Ohio State in the fall!
Men’s Soccer
9/2 – The Buckeyes defeated Davidson 3-2 in overtime to win the Bert & Iris Wolstein Classic for the second straight year. Kenny Cunningham scored the game-winning goal in the 97th minute to give the Buckeyes the victory. Ohio State trailed after 61 minutes of play, but two late goals from Sebastian Rivas and Alex Bujenovic tied the game up at 2. Bujenovic was the event MVP and named to the all-tournament team along with teammates Chris Hegngi, Zach Mason, & Alex Ivanov.
9/7 – The Buckeyes lost 2-0 to San Diego at Toreros Stadium in San Diego, California. After a scoreless first half Eli Galbraith-Knapp in the 50th minute, and Joey Dei Rossi added to the lead a short time later.
Women’s Soccer
9/2 – The Ohio State women’s soccer team beat Syracuse 2-0 in its third consecutive shut out. In the 32nd minute, Lauren Granburg gave the Buckeyes the lead after receiving a pass from Samantha Lewis. With less than 10 minutes to go in the game, Tiffany Cameron scored again for the Buckeyes, who finished with a 10-7 advantage in shots.
9/6 – Tiffany Cameron scored 24 seconds into overtime to help the Buckeyes defeat No. 13 Missouri 1-0. Ohio State held a 7-4 advantage in shots on goal in what proved to be a very physical game, and both teams finished with 15 total shots each.
Women’s Field Hockey
9/2 – The No. 15 Buckeyes fell 5-0 to No. 1 Maryland in College Park, MD. The Terps had a 19-7 total shot advantage over Ohio State, who was limited to just six shots in the first half. Senior Danica Deckard led the Buckeyes with four shots in the game.
Women’s Volleyball
9/7-8 – The Buckeyes were 3-0 at the WKU tournament this weekend. In their first match, they upset No. 10 Dayton 3-2, led by senior Mari Hole’s 21 kills and 10 digs. In their second match, they defeated IUPUI 3-1, with four Buckeyes finishing with double digit kills (including Hole, who led and finished with 18). Finally, Ohio State beat tournament host Western Kentucky 3-1 to win the event. Hole was named the tournament MVP and junior Kaitlyn Leary was named to the all-tournament team.
