Men’s Soccer

9/9 – Despite being out-shot 26-11, the Buckeyes got their first road win of the year by beating San Diego State 2-1.  Louie Berra led Ohio State to the victory with a goal and an assist at the SDSU Sports Deck.  Their first goal came from Joshua Bretto late in the first half to tie the game at one.

News From The WHAC

9/14 – Ohio State defeated DePaul 2-1 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on Friday night.  Goals for the Buckeyes came from Louie Berra and Kenny Cunningham, and goalkeeper Alex Wimmer finished with eight saves. DePaul finished with a 19-15 advantage in shots, while both teams finished in corners at 7 each.

Women’s Soccer

9/9 – The Buckeyes recorded their fifth shut out in a row by beating Duquesne 3-0 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Ohio State took the lead in the thirteenth minute when Tiffany Cameron managed to get the ball past Duquesne goalkeeper Devon Tabata.  The Buckeyes scored again less than sixty seconds later when Lauren Granberg converted a Cameron pass.  Cameron scored again in the 35 minute on a pass from Danica Wu to give Ohio State a 3-0 lead.  The Buckeyes finished with a 21-7 shot advantage.

Field Hockey

9/9 – The No. 23 Buckeyes fell to Miami (OH) 2-1 in their home opener at Buckeye Varsity Field.  Senior forward Berta Queralt scored the only goal for Ohio State at 7:07 in the first half.  Twenty-five minutes later, Emily Gruesser scored for the RedHawks and tied the game at one.  Demi Wideman scored the winning goal in the second half for Miami.  Ohio State finished with an 8-1 advantage in penalty corners, but could not find the goal to tie the game.

Women’s Volleyball

9/14 – The No. 21 Buckeyes fell to No. 18 Pepperdine in a three set loss on Friday in the Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup. Senior Mari Hole finished with 11 kills and 10 digs in the match for Ohio State while teammate Emily Danks finished with 10 kills and 2 service aces.  Jazmine Orozco and Katie Messing led the way for Pepperdine, finishing with 13 kills each. Orozco also had 14 digs.

News From The WHAC

9/15 – The No. 21 Buckeyes lost 3-1 in a match against Florida State in the Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup in Houston.  Mari Hole, Mariah Booth, and Emily Danks led Ohio State, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the No. 11 Seminoles.  Yildirim Fatma finished with 20 kills for FSU while teammate Olivera Medic added 13 and 14 digs.  Hole had 15 kills for Ohio State while Booth and Danks finished with 11 and 10 respectively.  Later in the day, the Buckeyes defeated Houston 3-1. Booth was named to the All-Tournament team, after finishing with 17 kills in the match. Hole finished the match with 10 kills and 11 digs.

Golf

9/15 – Sophomore Boo Timko and freshman Tee-K Kelly led the Buckeyes to finish in first after day one of the Wolf Run Intercollegiate tournament. Timko finished the day tied for first, finished 7-under 135.  Kelly finished tied for fight with 2-under 140. The third round of the tournament was being played today (9/16).
