Men’s Soccer
9/18 – The Buckeyes fell to Louisville 4-0 at Cardinal Park on Tuesday night, dropping to a 3-4 record. The Cardinals got goals from four different players, and took the lead in the 20th minute when Marlon Hairston scored. The Buckeyes were outshot 15-6 in total shots and 9-2 in shots on goal.
Men’s Golf
9/16 – After tallying a final day score of 299 at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate tournament, the Buckeyes finished third. Tee-K Kelly led Ohio State, finishing fourth with a 3-under 210. Boom Timko also did well for the Buckeyes, finishing fifth overall. Illinois finished with a final score of 3-over 855 to win the team trophy.
Women’s Soccer
9/16 – Tiffany Cameron’s overtime goal lifted the Buckeyes over Minnesota 2-1 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Minnesota took a 1-0 lead after a goal in the 11th minute by Katie Thyken, and the Golden Gophers took the lead into the half. After the intermission, after several missed opportunities, Marisa Wolf finally got the Buckeyes on the board to tie the game at 1. Then Cameron scored her fifth game-winning goal of the season in the 99th minute to give the Buckeyes the lead and the win. For the game, the Gophers outshot the Buckeyes 18-11, including 9-6 in shots on goal.
9/21 – The Buckeyes dropped a 1-0 decision at Illinois on Friday night. After a scoreless first half that was delayed because of weather, the Illini had outshot the Buckeyes 12-8. In the second half, Taylore Peterson gave Illinois the lead when she converted an assist from teammate Kassidy Brown. Lauren Granberg led the Buckeyes in shots, tallying five.
Field Hockey
9/16 – The Buckeyes defeated Bucknell on the road 3-1 in Lewisburg, PA. Ohio State took the lead when Danice Deckard converted an assist from Berta Queralt. Emma Royce, a freshman midfielder, scored her first career goal to give the Buckeyes a 2-0 advantage at 32:01. Their third goal came from Paula Pastor-Pitarque in the second half. Bucknell avoided the shut out late after converting a penalty kick.
9/19 – Ohio State defeated Kent State 8-2 on Wednesday at Buckeye Varsity Field. The Buckeyes were led by senior Danica Deckards hat trick and freshman Mona Frommhold’s two goals. For the game, Ohio State held a 23-11 advantage in shots and a 9-7 lead in penalty corners.
9/21 – The Buckeyes upset No. 10 Northwestern 3-2 on Friday. Northwestern struck first off a goal from Chelsea Armstrong, but the Buckeyes battled back to tie it up at 19:39 when Berta Queralt scored. At 28:22, Ohio State took a 2-1 lead when sophomore Kaitlyn Wagner managed to score. In the second half, with less than five minutes to go, OSU tallied its third goal when senior Danica Deckard found the goal.
Women’s Volleyball
9/21 – No. 23 Ohio State opened up Big Ten play with a 3-0 sweep of Iowa on Friday night, winning 25-10, 25-20, and 25-16. Seniors Mari Hole and Emily Danks who finished with 14 and 11 kills, respectively, led the Buckeyes. Davionna DiSalvatore finished with 11 digs for the Bucks, while Julianna Mandalfo had 6.
9/22 – No. 3 Nebraska was too much for the No. 23 Buckeyes, who dropped the match 3-1 at St. John Arena on Saturday night. Mari Hole finished with 14 kills and 11 digs for the Buckeyes, finishing with her seventh double-double of the season. Ohio State won the first set 25-17 before dropping the next three by scores of 25-12, 25-20, and 25-14.
