CB Richard Sherman Apologizes for Postgame Rant – After deflecting a potential touchdown pass intended for Niners wide receiver Michael Crabtree with 22 seconds left in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game, Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman called Crabtree as “sorry” and “mediocre” during a post game interview, apologized Monday for his remarks stating that it was not his intent to take attention away from his teammates.
Sherman stated that his comments were prompted by Crabtree shoving his face after attempting to shake his hand. Seattle would be flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct after Sherman’s “choke’ gesture.
Crabtree would respond by calling Sherman a “TV guy” and “he knows what time it is, he ain’t done nothing”
Pats Head Coach Bill Belichick Accuses Broncos WR Wes Welker of Targeting CB Aqib Talib : During a Monday press conference, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick accused former Patriot—and current Denver Bronco—Wes Welker of intentionally trying to injure cornerback Aqib Talib during Sunday’s 26-16 loss in the AFC Championship Game.
Belichick stated that Welker’s collision with Talib was “a deliberate play to take out Aqib by the receiver(Welker)” Belichick would go on to comment that it was one of the worst plays that he had ever seen.
Browns Willing to Trade up For Johnny Manziel? – According to CBS’s Jason La Confra, the Cleveland Browns are willing to trade up to No.1 for the former Heisman Trophy winner out of Texas A&M.
Currently with no coach, and no draft strategy formalized, the Browns are desperate for some positive attention after firing head coach Rob Chudzinksi after one year.
After being turned down by Josh McDaniels—and Adam Gase, per media reports—Cleveland is currently hoping that Manziel and (insert coach) could jumpstart an otherwise dysfunctional Browns organization.
