Los Angeles Kings Knock Off Defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks, 5-4 in OT, Face Rangers: Thanks a goal from Alec Martinez at 5:47 in overtime, the Los Angeles Kings defeated the Chicago Blackhawks, 5-4 to advance to the franchise’s third Stanley Cup. Down 2-0, the Kings rallied thanks to goals from Jeff Carter and Justin Williams to tie the game at 2-2, before going seesawing back and forth thanks to two goals from Patrick Sharp and Tyler Toofoli.

Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick would stop 37 shots for Los Angeles, who almost let a 3-1 series lead slip away, now face Henrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers.

USA Beats Turkey, 2-1 in World Cup Tune-Up:  Thanks to goals from Fabian Johnson(26’) and Clint Dempsey(52’), USMNT downed Turkey, 2-1 in an international friendly played in Harrison, New Jersey. Selcuk Inan would convert a penalty kick in the 90th minute to provide the Turk’s lone tally.

2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup in Danger?: According to The Sunday Times, former FIFA executive, Mohamed Bin Hammam made an estimated five million to FIFA officials in exchange for their votes to secure Qatar’s first-ever World Cup. In the article, the Times states that they have received “hundreds of millions” of documents incriminating Bin Hammam.  If true, FIFA could possibly considered taking the World Cup away from Qatar and casting a new vote entirely.
