NFL: AFC North Review Week 3: Steelers Pummel Panthers; Ravens Lose Dennis Pitta for Season

Pittsburgh Steelers at Carolina Panthers– In this primetime game, the Steelers proved that they are still a feared force to be reckoned with in the AFC North. Pittsburgh utterly destroyed Carolina 37 to 13. Ben Roethlisberger threw for a not so stellar 196 yards. However, he threw two touchdowns. LaGarrette Blount provided put on a display of primetime excitement rushing for 118 yards and one touchdown. Antonio Brown could not be contained as he hauled in 10 catches for 90 yards and two touchdowns.

Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns– The Ravens offense had their way with the Browns. Joe Flacco didn’t have an elite showing against the Browns defense but was effective enough with  217 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Steve Smith  caught  five passes for 101 yards . Torrey Smith was silent, hauling in two passes for 25 yards. Baltimore tight end Dennis Pitta left the game with a dislocated hip. It was confirmed that Pitta underwent surgery and will not play for the rest of the season.

Despite the loss, Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer outperformed Flacco with 290 passing yards and one touchdown.

Tennessee Titans at Cincinnati Bengals – The Bengals took no prisoners in this 33-7 win over the Tennessee Titans. Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton completed 15 passes for 169 yards and 1 interception. Cincinnati pulled a rare trick on the Titans as receive Mohamed Sanu got a taste of what being a quarterback is like as he threw an 18 yard touchdown pass to Dalton.
