NFL Computerized Power Ranks: Week 13

Wow, it’s hard to believe we only have 4 weeks left of the regular season.  We’re getting to the point of the year where teams are not shifting too dramatically in the computerized ranks as we approach the playoffs.

The Texans won again and remain #1.  Meanwhile, the #2 Ravens lost to Chaz Batch and the Steelers, moving the Patriots up to #2 and setting up a great #1 vs #2 matchup for this weekend.  The Ravens loss also allowed the Falcons to move up to #3.  The 49ers got upset by their nemesis, the Rams, and fell 3 spots to #7.  The Broncos moved up to #5.

On the low end, the Chiefs win moved them up to #31, but it wasn’t enough to pass the Raiders.  The Eagles are now the #32 ranked team, even though they have shown some signs of life the past few weeks.  The Jags remain at #29 and the Titans are the worst of the pack of crappy teams just above the truly awful teams.

The biggest gainers this week were the Bills, who beat up on the Jaguars to jump 7 spots to #21 and back into the playoff race (sorta).  The biggest losers were the Saints, who fall to 5-7 and probably out of the playoff picture after a nice attempt to come back this season.
