NFL Computerized Power Ranks: Week 5

As Ryan mentioned in his post yesterday, I was in Lafayette for the Purdue football game this past weekend and then spent the rest of the weekend visiting family in Chicago, so I pretty much watched no NFL action this weekend. So I don’t have much to comment on outside of the stats associated with this post.

This week, the Texans and Falcons remained undefeated and in the top 2 spots.  The Cardinals 16-0 season dream was ruined by the Rams, however.  They fell 3 spots to #5, while the 49ers and Bears, who both had blowout wins again this week against bad teams, moved up to #3 and #4.

On the low side, the Saints finally getting a win moved them up 6 spots to #26.  This bumped Cleveland down to #32.  The Panthers lost again this week, but not as pathetically as the Chiefs and Titans, who fell below them, along with the idle Raiders.

The 2 biggest gainers this week were the Rams and Colts, who both jumped 8 spots.  The biggest losers were the Broncos, who dropped 6 spots.
