Thanks to the fact that we have Thursday night football each week, the ranks are late but at least they made it before Sunday’s games.
The Falcons stayed in first by having a bye while the Bears remain #2 after beating the Lions, closing the gap with the Falcons significantly in the process. This week was supposed to have a huge game between the #3 Ravens and #4 Texans but the injuries on the Ravens defense really showed, and as a result, the Texans crushed the Ravens and took their #3 spot while the Ravens fell to #9. The Ravens loss bumped up the Giants, 49ers and Vikings one spot each.
On the low end, in a 30 vs 31 matchup, the Raiders beat the Jaguars to jump up to #26, while the Panthers lost yet again, falling down to #31. The Browns and the Bills also returned to their rightful spots in the bottom 5. The Chiefs had a bye and remained #32.
The biggest gainers this week were the Saints, who are finally showing some life and jumped to #19, while the Cowboys win over Carolina also surprisingly jumped them 8 spots. The biggest losers were the Bengals, who fell 8 spots all the way to #27, followed by the Jets, who just can’t seem to find any consistency.
One side note: Notice in the playoff projections below….the NFC is WAY better than the AFC this year.
