NFL Mock Draft 1.0

Happy Draft-Eve! As usual, we’re posting our annual NFL Mock Draft. This year, we did things a little bit different. The staff here alternated making picks for the various 1st round teams, and every once in awhile, we polled the Twitter followers on who a team might pick. Take a look and tell us if you agree/disagree or think we’re straight-up crazy. Also… please join us Friday night for Day 2 of the draft at the Pourhouse in Minneapolis where we’ll chat with Matt Blair, Leo Lewis and Edmond Robinson from 6-9 pm.

1. LA Rams- Jared Goff, Cal. They gave up quite a few picks for an impact player, Franchise QB is the only pick that makes sense here.

2.) Eagles: Carson Wentz, QB ND. The Eagles traded up to put themselves in position to get one of the top 2 quarterbacks. To me… It looks like they got the best one.

3. Chargers – OT Laremy Tunsil, Ole Miss. Rivers got hit a ton last year. He would give them a solid anchor on the blindside

4. Dallas- Joey Bosa OSU, Greg Hardy was a bad move by Dallas, they need to bring in a Pass rusher to help.

5.) Fans: Jags – Jalen Ramsey, S- The Jags need a playmaker in general. Ramsey has potential to light up that mild defense.

6. Baltimore – Myles Jack – Baltimore is still looking to replace the dynamic Ray Lewis. Jack has a real shot.

7. San Fransisco – Ronnie Stanley OT Notre Dame. Who knows who will be their QB but whoever they have will need time and thats something that SF hasn’t been able to provide of late.

8. Browns- Deforest Buckner DE, Oregon. Browns need to improve their Defense after being in the bottom third in the league last season, starting in the trenches would help them.

9.) Fans- Tampa Bay: Vernon Hargreaves: Tampa drafts a cornerback here to rejuvenate their backfield and get back to the days of having lockdown corners.

10.) Giants- Jack Conklin, OT: The Giants struggled with protecting their franchise quarterback all last season. Conklin will be a start to rebuilding the line.

11.) Bears – Shaq Lawson DE Clemsen. The Bears have a big need on the D-Line and I think Shaq is an absolute stud. Its a good thing the Vikings added som O-Line help in free agency….

12.) Saints- Darron Lee LB, OSU. Saints need to revamp their Linebacking core and Lee could be the stability they are looking for.

13.) Fans- Dolphins – Ezekiel Elliott- The Dolphins have a trio of mediocre running backs on the roster. Elliott will step in as the lead back over Jay Ajayi.

14.)Raiders – CB- William Jackson– Jackson has the size and ball skills the Raiders are looking for at corner.

15.) Tennessee – Taylor Decker OT OSU. Asset Protection Pick. Mariotta was rushed or hit a ton. He looks like a franchise QB and Decker will help keep him upright.

16.) Lions- Robert Nkemdiche, the Lions have yet to make up for the loss of Suh, and Nkemdiche will make up for that by being a day one plug in player.

17. Atlanta – Reggie Ragland ILB – Atlanta gets their third choice at linebacker after Lee and Lawson go early. They may look to trade back.

18. TRADE (Indy trades 18 to Bengals, receives 24th and 3rd rounder): Bengals- Josh Doctson WR, TCU. AJ Green has need a partner next to him, and with Cincy losing two WRs they need an explosive WR Doctson fits the bill.

19. Buffalo – Leonard Floyd, OLB Georgia. Buffalo needs to improve their pass rush. I think they can get a DE in later rounds to try and replace Williams and pair it with a nice OLB off the edge.

20- TRADE (Jets trade 20 with Vikings for 23 and 4th rounder). Vikings – Laquon Treadwell, WR Ole Miss. Trade up because Houston also needs a WR. I also like Doctson more but he’s off the board. Treadwell will also be a stud. He’s a big body that wins 50-50 balls and gives the vikings a viable red zone weapon.

21. Redskins- A’Shawn Robinson DT Alabama. Redskins lack serious interior pass rush and solid run stuffing ability. Robinson was an anchor on Alabamas front.

22.) Texans- Will Fuller: The Texans wanted the other two big bodied receivers but they are off the board. They choose Fullers flash over Colemans consistency.<

23. Jets – Corey Coleman WR Baylor. Thought about taking Paxton Lynch but I think they will make a move on hackenberg in the 2nd. WR i think is their second biggest need

24.) Indy – Ryan Kelly, C: Indy has holes all over their offensive line. Making a trade gains them an extra 3rd rounder to help fill the holes and still pick up a solid starting anchor in Kelly.

25.) Fans – Pittsburgh: Eli Apple, CB… With the top CBs off the board… The Steelers have options, but they’ll take a chance on Eli.

26.) TRADE DENIED – Seattle … Wants to trade their pick up Denver at 32. Denver denies trade. Seattle – Sheldon Rankins, DT…. Seattle gets the steal of the draft after Rankins dropped out of the top 20.

27. Hunter Henry TE Arkansas. They haven’t. Had a good TE since Jermichael Finley. Henry will boost Rodgers passing attack while being a consistent blocker.

28.) Chiefs – Noah Spence... Noah slides for off the field behavior. But the Chiefs can’t pass on his first round talent at DE.

29.) Fans – Cardinals- Karl Joseph. With a run on defensive lineman, the Cardinals take the best player available with Karl Joseph.

30. Panthers- Derrick Henry RB, Alabama. Panthers could use a star RB to tote the rock for years Derrick Henry is just that guy.

TRADE: San Francisco trades Kaepernick, 2nd round pick, and future 2nd and 4th round pick to Denver for 31.

31.) San Francisco – Paxton Lynch – Suck it Cleveland.
