The close-fought game did not move in the Patriots’ favor until the waning seconds when K Adam Vinatieri hit a 48-yard field goal to give New England its first Super Bowl title.The game also earned Brady his first of two Super Bowl MVP honors as the quarterback was 16 of 27 for 145 yards and one touchdown.
