I’ll have to do this quick pick style again.
Last week, 10-4. Overall, 75-45 for a .625 winning percentage.
Cleveland at Pittsburgh – CBS, 1 p.m.
Cleveland is 5-3 and was slaughtered in their first meeting back in Week 1 by the Steelers. It led to the banishment of Charlie Frye and the coronation of Derek Anderson as QB. I’m going with my heart instead of my head. Cleveland pulls the upset on Pittsburgh, 23-20. I know. I know, but I’m going to look good when the upset occurs.
Minnesota at Green Bay – Fox, 1 p.m.
Packers have a very good defense and so does Minnesota. Adrian Peterson will not run for over 200 yards this week. He may get 150, but that’s all. Packers win, 27-19.
Buffalo at Miami – CBS, 1 p.m.
Dolphins are coming off a bye week. It still doesn’t help. Dolphins go to 0-9, losing 16-0.
Denver at Kansas City – CBS, 1 p.m.
Denver can’t stop anyone. Detroit laid a 40 burger last week on the Broncos. The Chiefs could score more. Take the Chiefs, 38-14.
Philadelphia at Washington – Fox, 1 p.m.
I can’t figure out the Iggles. Neither can anyone else. Washington has a winning record and a decent defense. Take the ‘skins by a 28-17 count.
St. Louis at New Orleans – Fox, 1 p.m.
This game is not in HD and deservedly so. The Rams are horrible. The Saints are back. Take NO and its offense, 31-7.
Atlanta at Carolina – Fox, 1 p.m.
One thing we’ve learned about David Carr at QB this season. He sucks. He’s terrible and he just can’t make quick decisions in the pocket. He’s not starting this week and that means the Panthers have a decent chance to win. Panthers, 29-10.
Jacksonville at Tennessee – CBS, 1 p.m.
This should be a fun game. I like both teams and you have VY on one side. Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew on the other. We could have a fun AFC South shootout. Take Tennessee to win, but close. Titans 26-23.
Cincinnati at Baltimore – CBS, 4:05 p.m.
This game is not going to be fun. Thankfully, the NFL put this in the barely seen 4:05 time slot. Hide the kids from this. Don’t let them watch. Ravens win this, but barely. 16-15.
Chicago at Oakland – Fox, 4:15 p.m.
Chicago is just not hitting on all cylinders this season and is not going to even make the playoffs after being in the Super Bowl last season. Everything is in a shambles, but Oakland is what helps to temporarily cure a lot of teams. Bears, 19-7.
Detroit at Arizona – Fox, 4:15 p.m.
Cards are falling back to their old self after looking good in the first three weeks. Take the Lions to win over the Birds, 34-12.
Dallas at New York Giants – Fox, 4:15 p.m.
What is it about the 4:15 p.m. slot that has had the best games this season? Pats-Cowboys, Pats-Colts and now Cowboys-Giants. I’m not complaining. Tony Romo has a new contract. Giants coach Tom Coughlin has a new personality. Tiki Barber hasn’t criticized the Giants in weeks. What’s going on here? Giants are much better than the team that lost rather handily in Week 1. Take the Giants to defeat an overrated Cowboys team, 41-31.
Indianapolis at San Diego – NBC, 8:15 p.m.
You know, I’m tempted to say Indianapolis bounces back from its loss to New England and takes this one easily, but the Chargers have some pride. A loss for either team and it’s two straight in the “L” column. While the Chargers allowed over 300 yards on the ground to Minnesota, 296 of which went to Adrian Peterson, I’m going to pick San Diego to win at home. It’s a gutsy pick, but the Chargers want to prove something. Take them to win, 38-35.
San Francisco at Seattle – ESPN, 8:30 p.m., Monday
This is the type of game that led NBC to choose Sunday nights instead of taking over the Monday Night Football contract. Who cares? Will you watch? I’m not. I’ll take Seattle over a listless 49er team, 27-0.
Enjoy your Week 10.
