3. Josh Rosen
Josh Rosen was headed into a tough week since the Arizona Cardinals had to play on Thursday Night Football. It’s now been five days since the Cardinals took a beatdown by the Denver Broncos, so I am going to assume that everybody is well aware of Rosen’s week seven struggles.
Actually, scratch that. Rosen completely collapsed during week seven. The Broncos pass rush is dangerous, and Rosen truly had his “welcome to the league, rookie” moment. For the first time in his young career as a starter, Rosen finished off with multiple interceptions. Three to be exact. His QBR was an ugly 3.0. And no, that’s not a GPA.
Rosen hasn’t had his big week yet, and it almost feels unlikely to happen at this point. The Cardinals are just a bad team. The situation for Rosen is not a good one. It’s unfortunate, but rookies won’t get a pass just because it’s their first year.
They are bound to make mistakes, but we can’t let it go unnoticed. If Jackson wasn’t a backup, and Allen didn’t miss this week, then there’s probably a good chance that Rosen takes a hard fall to the bottom of the list. But the simple fact that he started and played a full game this week earned him this spot at No. 3.
