2. Sam Darnold
The top spot was short lived for Sam Darnold. Over the last two weeks, Darnold was on-point. But it all went downhill this week as the New York Jets took on a Minnesota Vikings team that is starting to find their identity as a good football team once again.
The Jets tried to rely heavily on Darnold’s arm, and the young quarterback was simply not up to the challenge this week. For the first time this season, Darnold was forced to throw over 40 passes. He completed only 42-percent of his passes, which happens to be a season-low.
To make matters worse for Darnold, he also threw three interceptions. We know that Darnold isn’t afraid to take chances in the passing game, but throwing an interception in all but one game this season with three multiple turnover showings is getting tough to watch. The Jets should be thrilled with Darnold’s ceiling, but his consistency is concerning.
