1. Baker Mayfield
The Cleveland Browns are slowly becoming the Browns that we all know too well. Baker Mayfield Mania has slowed down a bit, and there are much bigger problems going on in Cleveland. The good news for Browns fans is that Mayfield is precisely in this for the long haul.
The bad news is that the Browns are doing nothing to help their rookie quarterback during difficult times. The offense is struggling, and the front office cannot figure out whether they want to fire Hue Jackson or Todd Haley for the issues. Regardless of who they choose, it’s going to affect Mayfield’s growth for this season.
Getting a new coach halfway through the year would be hard for any quarterback. But when it’s a rookie quarterback who’s still learning the game at the next level, it just cannot be easy.
We have to credit Mayfield though because it’s clear that the Browns are having internal struggles but he isn’t falling apart. Sure, he didn’t have his best game this past Sunday, but he still looks like the best quarterback in the class for now. Mayfield remains on top this week, and it’s well-deserved for how he’s been playing in 2018.
