There are a few winless teams in the NFL so far. Some of them probably don’t deserve to be winless (The Tampa Bay Bucs can tell you that for sure). I believe that a few teams will finally get their first win this week and get back in the mix of things. This article will detail my though process in predicting why these teams will finally get a number other than zero in their win column after this week.
New York Giants– If it weren’t for all those turnovers in their Week 1 game against the Cowboys, the Giants would have probably won that game. Last week they were dealt a bad hand, as they had to go against the Denver Broncos. So, the Giants are 0-2 going into a Week 3 matchup with the 0-2 Carolina Panthers. Even though Carolina is home in this one, I expect the G-Men to roll to victory and finally get their first win of the season.
Washington Redskins– The Redskins may be another team who has just been unlucky to start the season. Their defense was caught off guard by the Eagles in Week 1, and last week they had to play the Green Bay Packers in Lambeau. So, it is not that shocking that the Skins are 0-2 so far, especially with a bad defense and a less-than-100-percent RGIII. They are home this Sunday against the Detroit Lions, who are 1-1 so far. This game is really hard to predict, but I think the Redskins will come away with a close win.
Minnesota Vikings– A playoff team last year, the Vikings have not played very well to start off this season. They lost both games by single digits and Adrian Peterson did not have a very good game last Sunday against the Bears. Quarterback Christian Ponder has been struggling, also. But, they are playing the Cleveland Browns this Sunday, who just traded running back Trent Richardson to the Colts. I think this an easy win for the Vikings, and I see Peterson in line for a huge day running the ball.
Pittsburgh Steelers– Even though they looked terrible in both their games this season, I believe that the Steelers will finally get a win this week. They face the Bears on Sunday Night at home and I don’t doubt that their fans will be foaming at the mouth for a win. The Bears are 0-2, but that may be an aberration. I can’t really see the Steelers being 0-3 to start off a season, just like I’m having trouble imagining the Bears being 3-0 to start a season. It may be a low-scoring affair, but I like the Steelers to pull it out.
