More than 125 @NFL veterans are attending the invitation-only NFL Veteran Combine at the @Cardinals practice facility tomorrow.

Mike Tanier wrote a wonderful piece about the NFL Veterans Combine for Bleacher Report and it explains everything. He explains why it is this weekend in Tempe, Arizona.
“The NFL holds its owners’ meetings in Phoenix on the weekend of March 21-23, so high-level executives are already scheduled to be in the area. The league also hosts its “super regional combine” in Tempe on Saturday, March 21, so a lot of scouting and personnel people will also be in town. The veteran combine saves everyone from having to make a separate trip, particularly scouts who are rushing from college pro day to college pro day this time of year.”
The Vet Combine is another shot for a near-miss player with NFL potential to get a second or third look from a pro club. Some were released after an injury. Others fell off the back end of a roster on cut-down day.
Teams always peeked at these players at weekly workouts during the regular season. Fans always read news that [SOMEBODY] was invited to work out for [YOUR TEAM] after a bad loss and were certain [SOMEBODY] was about to be signed.
The Vet Combine is a more efficient approach to due diligence.

Tim Tebow, Terrell Owens, Vince Young, JaMarcus Russell and Albert Haynesworth have not been invited to the Veterans Combine.

There are no future Pro Bowlers on this list. Practice squads or special teams is the ceiling for a lucky few. Even that shot is by invitation only.
The Vet Combine will not be a marketing bonanza for the NFL. Sports fans are too dialed into the Sunday’s NCAA Tournament games to care.
If only Tim Tebow was going to be there.
