6th seed vs. 3rd seed: New York Jets vs. New England Patriots
Tom Brady and the New England Patriots lost on Monday night to the Carolina Panthers 24-20 and the offense wasn’t so much as a concern as the defense is. Brady and the offense can put up points; they put 20 points against the stingy Panthers’ defense. New England’s defense is this team’s achilles heel. They are hurting with injuries in secondary to safety Steve Gregory, cornerback Alfonzo Dennard, and cornerback Aqib Talib, who is dealing with a nagging hip injury.
Brady and the boys will have to out score people but in a matchup against the Jets he should have the upper hand.
For Jets, Rex Ryan’s team has been playing up and down football for the most part, that is why their record is 5-5. The Jets have been winning games by luck and surprisingly their defense. Rookie quarterback Geno Smith has had his ups and downs this season but when he has been playing good, the Jets are good team on offense.
But in a playoff scenario, he would totally get dominated by Tom Brady.
