NFL Week Seven predictions

RRhy

Atlanta Falcons (2-4) at Baltimore Ravens (4-2)
Before last week’s games, I said that Atlanta was a much better team at the Georgia Dome. Then, they got killed by the Bears at home, and their offense looked atrocious.

The Ravens have quickly turned into one of the best teams in league, and they’re right there at the top of the AFC North.

In a battle of quarterbacks drafted in the same year, I think we know which one’s on top right now.

Prediction: Baltimore 31, Atlanta 14

Minnesota Vikings (2-4) at Buffalo Bills (3-3)
The Vikings are a young team on the rise, but Teddy Bridgewater still needs to assimilate to the NFL game.

Even with their defeat to the Patriots last Sunday, the Bills are still probably the second best team in the AFC East. They’ll get back up to a winning record today.

Prediction: Buffalo 20, Minnesota 13

Miami Dolphins (2-3) at Chicago Bears (3-3)
Miami is quickly falling off of a cliff. They are 1-3 in their last four games, and they’re another loss away from killing their playoff hopes in Week Seven.

The Bears played a great game Sunday afternoon in the Georgia Dome, and the NFC North is wide open for the taking at this point with no clear leader.

Prediction: Chicago 30, Miami 17

New Orleans (2-3) at Detroit Lions (4-2)
The Saints are about to play a game that they cannot afford to lose. However, a win in Detroit can catapult them towards first place in the division. Such is the nature in the weak NFC South.

The Lions could use a win against Drew Brees, and the best defense in the league might be able to get it done themselves against a team who has consistently shot themselves in the foot on offense.

Prediction: Detroit 27, New Orleans 17

Carolina Panthers (3-2-1) at Green Bay Packers (4-2)
These are two teams that really confuse me week in and week out. The Panthers have played average football one game, elite football the next game and then look average the next week again.

The Packers are the more consistent of these two teams, but a near loss in Miami last week shouldn’t do much to battle that inconsistency.

However, I don’t think I’m going to bet against the Packers at home.

Prediction: Green Bay 34, Carolina 24

Cincinnati Bengals (3-1-1) at Indianapolis Colts (4-2)
The Bengals played a very strong game last week, but couldn’t close the game in a tie to the Panthers. The Cincy offense looked sharp, but the defense looked permeable.

The Colts are on a four game win streak and they are one of the hottest teams in the league. They are a dominant team at home, and if Cam Newton can light them up, I’m sure Andrew Luck can do the same at Lucas Oil.

Prediction: Indianapolis 27, Cincinnati 23

Cleveland Browns (3-2) at Jacksonville Jaguars (0-6)
How ’bout them Browns? I thought they’d be an improved team going into this season, but they’re won two in a row and three out of their last four.

The Jaguars are still the second worst team in the league, and they’re not beating this scathing hot Browns team.

The Browns get to play Jacksonville, Oakland and Tampa Bay in back-to-back-to-back weeks. Is 6-2 out of the question?

Prediction: Cleveland 24, Jacksonville 10

Seattle Seahawks (3-2) at St. Louis Rams (1-4)
Wow. The Percy Harvin trade shocked me, but I see the reasoning behind it. Harvin brought too many distractions to the ‘Hawks and that wasn’t worth his immense talents.

The Rams. Yeesh. I can’t see them beating Seattle.

Prediction: Seattle 24, St. Louis 17

Tennessee Titans (2-4) at Washington (1-5)
There isn’t much I can say…. Some of these are just random guesses.

Prediction: Washington 24, Tennessee 17

Kansas City Chiefs (2-3) at San Diego Chargers (5-1)
The Chargers at 6-1? Wow. I can’t see the Chiefs coming into Southern California and knocking off the hottest team in football.

The Chargers will have a date Thursday night with Peyton Manning in a game that will likely have first place in the AFC West at stake.

The Chiefs need a win here. It’s not happening.

Prediction: San Diego 34, Kansas City 20

New York Giants (3-3) at Dallas Cowboys (5-1)
The Giants: yeesh. After we all thought that they had finally figured it out, they went into Philly and put up an enormous goose egg.

On the other hand, the Cowboys went to Seattle and knocked off the Champs. They are on par with San Diego with the honor of being the NFL’s hottest team.

I’m going to give this one to Dallas, but this might amount to be a trap game for them.

Prediction: Dallas 34, New York 24

Arizona Cardinals (4-1) at Oakland Raiders (0-5)
The Cardinals really don’t stand a chance here. It’s ironic that the guy that Oakland traded way too many draft picks for is succeeding on another team.

Prediction: Arizona 27, Oakland 13

San Francisco 49ers (4-2) at Denver Broncos (4-1)
Did NBC plan this perfectly? They have the NFL’s most popular player playing for the chance to set the record for the most passing touchdowns ever in a career.

The Niners are playing on short week off a Monday Night game in St. Louis, and even though they’re a great team, I doubt that they get in the way of history in this game.

Prediction: Denver 31, San Francisco 23

Houston Texans (3-3) at Pittsburgh Steelers (3-3)
Seriously. Who picks the Monday night game? There are many games better than this one this week.

Either way, we have two average teams playing, and it’s astonishing that one of these teams will actually have a winning record after this one.

Prediction: Houston 24, Pittsburgh 17

Last Week: (11-3)
Season: (58-32)
Best: (13-2)
