As many of you know, my brother, Attiba, and I have been picking games against the spread all season long because we’re just two guys who’ve watched a lot of football over the past two decades. We figured, “Hey. That’s more than enough experience to throw down some hard earned Benjamins on some NFL games this year.”
Well, these are the final regular season tallies. We didn’t pick games for Week 17 because we consider that to be our bye week. (Only true degenerate gamblers risk money on Week 17 games, and we’re not true degenerates.)
Attiba: 9-6-1
Adio: 9-7
Admittedly, I didn’t crush it as well as I did last year when I was 12-4 against the spread in sixteen weeks. That’s fine. I accept defeat. I’m not bitter about losing to my brother at something … again. It’s a cruel recurring theme of my life, so I’m used to it.
NFL Wild Card Weekend begins Saturday afternoon with two games on tap and another two on Sunday. Coverage starts with Houston hosting the Kansas City Chiefs followed by Pittsburgh/Cincinnati III. Sunday features the Seattle Seahawks travelling to Minnesota, and the weekend concludes with “Captain Kirk” Cousins and the Washington Professional Football team hosting the Green Bay Packers.
Are Attiba and I crazy enough to keep picking games this year?
Not only are we crazy enough to keep picking games, but we’re picking against the spread for every game of the playoffs — Wild Card, Divisional, Championship, Super Bowl. We’re not betting the Pro Bowl because that’s almost as bad as betting on a high school game. What’s the point?
Enjoy the podcast. As always, it’s your standard levels of Royster Brothers craziness but with a playoff twist.
Also, as mentioned on the podcast, I wanted to make sure I got the links for Amalgam Comics and Coffee House in the Kensington section of Philadelphia — who aren’t sponsoring the podcast, but it’s a great shop if you want to grab some comics, some coffee, and maybe even some pastry.
