Tonight, the Tampa Bay Lightning signed free agent defenseman Matt Carle. Carle spent the beginning of his career with the San Jose Sharks and then in the 2008-09 season, he played for the Lightning. Then, during the 2008-09 season, Carle was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers. Carle played four seasons with the Flyers and this past season played in all 82 regular season games and had 4 goals, 34 assists for 38 points. The Lightning signed Carle to a six year, $33 million contract, according to ESPN.
