Today, the Pittsburgh Penguins acquired Washington Capitals goaltender Tomas Vokoun for a seventh round draft pick. Last season, Vokoun’s record was 25-17-2 and his GAA was 2.51. Vokoun was slated to become an unrestricted free agent this summer but since the Pens acquired him, they signed him to a two year contract, worth an average of $2 million annually. Vokoun should help the Pens after they did not get strong goaltending in this year’s playoffs.
