Could the end be in sight? NFL tells teams to prepare for “lengthy” meeting!

goodellThe NFL Lockout that has virtually wiped out any chances of OTAs and threatens to derail teams training camps if it continues, could soon be over if the warnings of the NFL are to be heeded.
The NFL has advised its teams to prepare for the possibility of a PROLONGED league meeting next Tuesday in Chicago, and that this session COULD lay the groundwork for approval of a new collective bargaining agreement!

What does it really mean? Well for starters, that the 4 month lockout could be over, that they are telling those involved to bring your duffle bags, this is a sleepover, and your not going home until this gets done!

Today a group of reps from  both the NFL Owners and Players are meeting in Washington DC, and in fact its these ‘outside the courtroom’ meetings between NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and NFLPA director DeMaurice Smith that have been rumored to be productive to the point of making this announcement. This is being reported by numerous media outlets, so it has some basis of fact to it, and is the closest thing we’ve had to good news on this front in some time.

Indianapolis Colts Owner Jim Irsay has said the July 4th is essential for a deal to get done to insure the start of training camps on time. While an actual CBA wouldn’t be done next week, the basics would; and then the actual deal would get done f
rom the basic designs over the next few weeks.
