Ray Perkins wore out his players in August summers with three-a-day training camps, by the time the Bucs were in September they were in mid-season form. By Novemember they were dead, and the Bucs defense would collapse. But at least they had an excuse. Not even the 1986 Bucs gave up 48 points twice in the same season. When you give up that many points, its not as simple as a ONE THING FIXES IT.
These are bad players.
These are bad coaches.
These are bad owners.
And they all need to change, starting with ownership. Don’t even bother firing Raheem Morris if your not going open up your pocket books in March when Free Agency starts. We Bucs fans don’t want to hear “Building through the draft” and ” Dont expect us to be active in Free Agency”, because we will reply “Dont expect us to be active Bucs fans this year”. I would rather pass on a season that settle for watching a Bucs team that I know has no chance to be competative.
The Bucs came out and instantly stunk the place up by fumbling the ball. Credit HC Morris for benching LeGarrette Blount and not accepting his turnover. Josh Freeman was hot in the first half, going 14 of 15, and in fact finished with good numbers, but eventually, the game got out of hand, and you just knew that the Bucs offense was feeling the pressure, and thats when they started making mistakes. Mossis Madu and Kregg Lumpkin deserve credit for trying their best, these guys would not be on any NFL franchise roster, and they shouldnt be here either. The talent level on this Bucs team has reached rediculous Pre-Glazer proportions.
The Defense could not stop Carolina at all, the Panthers moved the ball at will, and it was the same problems, poor tackling, bad angles. No one on defense showed much heart save for a few players at times. It should be noted that Brian Price and Albert Hanesworth were out, meaning the backup RDT and LDT were out of the lineup.
This week we will compare 2011 Bucs to 1986, 1990, 1991 teams. One thing was for sure on all of those really bad Bucs teams, and this is a really really bad Bucs team: The Head Coach had to go. I can no longer of good conscience back Raheem Morris as head coach. No one will respect anything I say if I do. Clearly he does not have the respect of this team that he thinks he did. Raheem Morris is a class act, and I believe he is a good coach, but clearly he is not a good enough coach to get these players to come out and play, and this is weeks in a row, so I cant count on him to do it next year either.
Raheem Morris must be let go to snap these players out of the comfort they are in, that they think they can play like that on an NFL team for us fans who pay a lot of money on Bucs products, services, and such. This is a business, and like any business, when it doesnt work out, the Boss must go, and the workers better get used to the new boss.
The Glazers should officially be on notice, that Tampa Bay fans will not accept an idle Free Agency period, we expect a change in the product.
