Today I am very proud to say Nittany Lions Den is on Fancred! This makes Nittany Lions Den the first Penn State blog to appear on the sports social network, as far as I know.
What is Fancred? I am glad you asked. In brief, it is a social network specifically for sports fans. Imagine a Twitter or Facebook timeline filled entirely with sports commentary, GIFs and links without political rants and pictures of your friends’ kids etc. All sports, all the time. You can specialize it to your fandom as well by joining communities specifically for your favorite teams or sports (Penn State Football, for example), and you can easily connect with other fans of your favorite teams. I have been on Fancred for a while now and was approached about getting this site on the platform as well. Today it is official. So how is this going to contribute to the site? Another fine question. A couple weeks ago on my college football blog, No 2-Minute Warning, I started up a Fancred Friday. I plan on doing that once a month over on that site, and I would like to do a similar feature here as well. If you are already on Fancred, be sure to start following Nittany Lions Den.
