The Red Sox could have used a pinch hit homer from Bobby Kielty tonight at Coors Field as the offense was held scoreless until the ninth. Jon Lester kept the Sox in the game with a solid start where he gave up six hits and one earned run. He was pulled after the sixth so Big Papi could pinch hit for him; welcome to NL baseball.
The Red Sox rallied in the ninth with Mike Cameron driving in Beltre and putting the team within one run. Mike Lowell came in to pinch hit in the park where he won the 2007 World Series MVP. He hit the ball hard to short but a great diving stop and throw to first put the game away for the Rockies.
