The Cincinnati Bearcats have their string of bowl appearances broken at 4 after losing to the Connecticut Huskies this afternoon. The Bearcats had all the familiar bugaboos of the season bite them in the ass in this one. We had turnovers that led to points, 2 of them, turnovers in general, 4 of them, personal fouls that kept drives alive, personal fouls that blew drives up, horrible secondary play, and the run defense was bad. Just bleh.Zach Collaros threw 3 INTs on the day, and played pretty terribly the second half. He’s been brutal the last two road games.
Armon Binns was a bright spot, going for over 100 yards and a score. Binns also went over 1,000 yards receiving on the season, the 8th Bearcat to accomplish the feat. Congrats to Armon.
I would write about how the scores happened and so on, but I’m not. Someone on twitter just said the Jonesthrope transformation of Cincinnati was complete, Big East champions to no bowl game. But, Kragthrope at least went .500. I’m typing this as the game is going on, and Collaros threw another INT. Zach Collaros threw 8 INTs in Big East road games this season. He threw 3 in every other game. Anyway, just a horrible loss in a horrible season. And we still have another game left. Sigh.
