Steve Zipay at Newsday reports that with 14 forwards on the roster, the Rangers are expected to make some moves this week with Erik Christensen and Wojtek Wolski the likely candidates.
Zipay adds that despite Wolski being the more vulnerable, the Rangers have found no takers for the enigmatic winger while shopping him recently. Wolski’s $3.8 million salary seems to be the stumbling block.
Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record has this from John Tortorella on a possible move…
“Those will be discussions. We go back to back here. I’m sure after these two games we have three days, I’m sure there will be some discussions what we want to do. I’m not sure what’s going to happen but I’m sure it’s going to be discussed.”
…assuming with no interest in Wolski the move will be to put him on waivers and assign him to the Whale. With no teams willing to trade from Wolski expect him to clear waivers.
…wonder if Sather is mentioning in trade talks that Wolski comes with a tub. Could help sweeten the pot.
