So you’re Jaime Garcia.
You’re back after nursing a groin pull back to health for over a month. And while your teammates weren’t doing much offensively during your 7 previous starts in 2015 you figured that some time away would give the Cardinals management (and players) opportunity to sort things out.
Nah, bruh.
For the 4th (!) time in 8 starts this season, the Cardinals provided Garcia with Z-E-R-O runs. 50%!
I don’t blame Carlos and Mike for getting bored:

The Cardinals offense is stagnant. With bottom half ranks for all the usual suspects:
- 19th in runs scored
- 24th in home runs
- 20th in slugging
- 15th in OPS
But all you really need to know is contained in Bernie’s one Tweet:
Cards pitchers have a 2.74 ERA in last 25 games but record only 13-12. STL offense has scored 3 or fewer runs in 14 of the 25.

The non-waiver trade deadline is this FRI JUL 31 @ 3p CT.
I find it very, VERY hard to believe that the Cardinals as an organization have taken a look at this team and said “we’re good”. Mo’s just watching this night in and night out wanting to ride or die with these bats in October? When it’s even harder to generate runs?
Again… nah, bruh.
He’s seen so many scoreless frames he’s getting called Mother Goose by his peers.
When you’re getting one of the great pitching seasons in MLB history it’s not just silly to stand pat, it’s downright irresponsible.
So instead of spending the next few paragraphs in histrionics, let’s let the next couple of days play out and see what the Cardinals end up doing to try and lift their offense.
They’ll do something.
They have to do something.
