Florida State captured its 25th straight victory Saturday night as the Seminoles overcame a slow start to beat Virginia 34-20. Virginia scored all 20 of its points off of FSU turnovers.

The Cavaliers held a brief 13-7 lead after a pair of Jameis Winston interceptions set up touchdown passes for Virginia sophomore quarterback Greyson Lambert.

Florida State however, was able to take control of the game after a Terrance Smith interception set Florida State up at the Virginia 3-yard-line early in the second quarter. Karlos Williams scored his second touchdown of the game one play later on a run up the middle.

A 22-yard touchdown pass to Rashad Greene and a 4-yard touchdown run from Winston gave the Seminoles a 28-13 halftime lead and FSU never looked back.

Virginia pulled to within one score of Florida State one play after a Dalvin Cook fumble set the Cavaliers up at the Florida State 23-yard-line as Lambert hit Canaan Severin in the end zone.

Two field goals from Roberto Aguayo in the second half along with a late fourth down stop in the red zone allowed the Seminoles to put the contest away.

Lambert finished the night with 220 yards passing and three touchdowns, but Virginia managed just 37 yards rushing on 32 carries.

Greene had 13 of Florida State’s 22 catches for 136 yards and a score. Winston overcame the two early interceptions to pass for 261 yards in the victory.

On the defensive side of the ball, Florida State junior defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. finished with nine stops, four for loss, and a sack. Cornerback P.J. Williams and safety Jalen Ramsey each had two tackles for loss.

FSU (9-0, 6-0 ACC) can clinch a third straight ACC Atlantic division title with a win next week at Miami. Virginia (4-6, 2-4 ACC) will have two weeks to prepare to face Miami at home.
