On Friday night the Tigers started a stretch of 15 games against teams that have a combined winning percentage of .421 and it didn’t get off on the right foot. The Royals pounded the Tigers’ shoddy pitching for seven runs on 13 hits and, outside of Brennan Boesch’s three-run bash, the Tigers’ bats produced crickets.
After striking out 14 last Sunday, Max Scherzer looked like the pitcher that got demoted in the middle of May. Ryan Perry relieved him and looked as if he wants to vacation in Toledo, as well. Don’t worry, though – Verlander is on the mound tomorrow night and he’s going to throw a perfect game. Jim Joyce willing.
