Oh Man… What If This Is It??

I just had a horrifying thought.

This could be the last time Isiah Thomas coaches against the Celtics.  My go-to guy for blogtastic comedy is about to get canned… or at least demoted.  But is it fair?  No… no its not (not to me anyway).

Can Donnie Walsh cost James Dolan at least $187 million over his tenure?  I don’t think so.

Can Walsh find someone that can inspire his team to suck so bad on the court, that you get a full season’s worth of pathetic pictures like these?  Impossible.

Is Walsh capable of so bungling the franchise at every level, that he inspires one of the most respected newsmen of our lives to say this?

[David Stern] certainly knows how I feel about the Knicks…and their ownership. As a season ticket holder for a long time, I won’t renew because I don’t like the attitude that that ownership has brought to the community…

..I think the Garden has lost a lot of its luster as a result of their ownership and this is the first time that I have really said that out loud. But I feel very strongly about it and I think that it’s the least we can expect. They get these huge prices for people to sit in those seats, all kinds of tax advantages to owning the Garden and yet they operate as if they were a sovereign country and want to play only by their own rules. So I’m not very happy about that.”

Do you realize the level of incompetence needed to not only do all that… but to make all those things just the tip of the iceberg?  It’s immeasurable.  He’s as good at sucking as anyone is at anything else.  You could clone Tiger Woods, Tom Brady, and Michael Jordan… program that clone to do nothing but screw things up… and I still don’t think it would be as bad as Isiah Thomas.  I mean… Would anyone be surprised if, at this point, Isiah had the balls to walk to center court of MSG in front of a big “Mission Accomplished” sign before declaring his regime a success?  Isn’t anything possible right now?

Here’s to you Zeke.  I hope you find a way to con Walsh… or Dolan again… and stick around in some viable capacity in New York.  If, for nothing else, just to make my life easier.
